Rittal showcases two new pre-equipped low-voltage distribution enclosures for data centre applications, complementing its power distribution concept: the PDR Flex IT distribution enclosure and the smaller-sized PDR Flex IT wall-mounted distribution enclosure. Both variants are prepared for the use of installed equipment. All products of the ABB smissline system can be used: from circuit-breakers to residual-current circuit-breakers and surge voltage protectors through to motor circuit breakers. This means that customer-specific requirements can be implemented particularly quickly and easily.
The ABB smissline locations are wired to the outlet terminals with individual 6 square millimetre wires to facilitate the use of 32 A circuit-breakers. Another advantage of this system solution is that it is designed to accommodate future extensions. Since it is easy to handle, lengthy interruptions to operations during installation are a thing of the past.
"The benefits of PDR Flex IT distribution and wall-mounted distribution enclosures are clear-cut: planning and assembly are made significantly easier than before, which means substantial time and money savings", explains Jörg Kreiling, Product Manager Data Centre Solutions at Rittal.
The PDR Flex IT distribution enclosure is based on the TS 8 rack that is ideal for baying. The rack has a glazed door with comfort handle for use of a semi-cylinder so that customised locks may be used. Cables may also be entered from the top if the optionally available roof plate is used. The 200 mm wide cable shunting area with four cable clamp rails that is concealed by a vertically hinged infill panel area is used for cable routing. It is fitted to the side of the rack. If required, a network analysis system may also be installed. There is sufficient space available in the infeed area for the required inverters. PDR Flex IT distribution enclosure comes in the following dimensions: 800 x 2000 x 400 mm.
As you would expect, the PDR Flex IT wall-mounted distribution enclosure is significantly smaller in size: 600 x 760 x 210 mm. The door hinge of this distribution enclosure may be swapped to the opposite side, and cables may be entered from the top or bottom. The sheet steel door has a double-bit lock as standard.
Both distribution enclosures are made of sheet steel and are dipcoat primed. They are supplied fully prewired, populated with customer-specific configurations and are tested before delivery. Their price depends on the customer-specific equipment installed.
