PMC 12 compact offers high efficiency with few height units

Lean and powerful

16.04.2010 Even the shortest power failures can cause servers to crash. For this reason, administrators should not do without using an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) - despite a shortage of space in the data centre. At Light+Building, Rittal is now presenting the PMC 12 compact, a space-saving and reasonably priced UPS with a high level of efficiency. This single-phase device is constructed as a double-converter, affording reliable protection against outages and interference in the power grid.

The PMC 12 compact from Rittal is a space-saving, reasonably priced UPS with a high level of efficiency.

There are around 20 minutes of power failures in Germany on average per year. Even if most interruptions only last a few seconds, they still represent a serious threat for IT components. UPS systems offer reliable protection that compensates for power grid fluctuations. With the PMC 12 compact, Rittal is exhibiting an improved version of its single-phase UPS PMC 12 at Light+Building. The level of efficiency has been significantly increased and besides this, the UPS is no more than 420 mm deep. This also makes it suitable for use in thinner enclosures in industrial environments or for network rack applications.

The PMC 12 compact is available in three output classes: 1 kVA, 2 kVA and 3 kVA. The 1-kVA model takes up just two height units (U) and is 405 mm deep. The 2 kVA and 3kVA models require four height units. They are 420 mm deep. The PMC 12 compact employs double conversion technology in accordance with EN-62040; the output voltage and frequency are generated constantly - and independently of the input (voltage and frequency-independent, VFI). All the PMC 12 units are network-capable and meet the highest classification code, the VFI-SS-111.
