There is a great demand for data centre solutions in the Gulf region and the Middle East. For this reason Detecon Al Saudia, a company that has so far specialised in telecommunications services, is expanding its range of solutions to include IT infrastructures, and has signed a partnership to this end deal with Rittal. Under the terms of this agreement, Detecon Al Saudia will be adding Rittal IT security solutions such as Rittal Modular Safes, IT security rooms and Data Centre Containers to its range of products.

Detecon Al Saudia will not only be selling Rittal solutions to its customers, it has also ordered a Data Centre Container from Rittal already to meet its own needs. This is planned to be installed as a backup data centre for the company's Riyadh headquarters. At the same time, it will serve as a reference object for potential and current customers.

Uncompromising when it comes to quality

Dirk Doerrschuck, Vice President for Information and Communication Technologies at Detecon Al Saudia, explains: "The IT market in Saudi Arabia is a very demanding one, due to the rapidly changing requirements there. We have chosen Rittal's leading IT infrastructure products so that we no longer have to compromise on availability in order to operate our Cloud Application Service. By using their products, we are saving valuable time, and we can also stand out clearly from the competition when it comes to quality.

"The trend towards flexible mobile solutions is now expanding from smart phones, Tablet PCs, and cloud computing to include complete infrastructures," added Helmut Binder, Rittal's Executive Vice President for Sales Asia Pacific Middle East. "With our Data Centre Containers, we are right at the technological cutting edge, and we are delighted to have a found strong local partner in Detecon Al Saudia."

The Data Centre Container accommodates Rittal server racks, one Rittal PMC 200 UPS, and two Rittal LCP inline cooling systems with a cooling output of 30 kW each, as well as a fire detection and extinguishin system with an extinguisher gas specifically approved for Saudi Arabia.
